As Co-Founder and President & CEO of SOPHIA Oxford, Jamie Coats contributes to developing initiatives aimed at addressing poverty and human development, aligning with the goals of Oxford University. Previous roles include Director of Friends of SSJE, various consulting positions in stewardship and communication, Investment Analyst at Zevin Asset Management, and President at both KLD Research & Analytics and KidsEnergy. Jamie Coats holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of London and has attended Harris Manchester College, Oxford, along with Eton College.

SOPHIA Oxford enables businesses to incorporate key social indicators into sustainable business practices that improve the impact of their social investments and the lives of their employees. SOPHIA Oxford was formed by Oxford University, as a not-for-profit partner of Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI). Over the past decade, OPHI has developed an approach to building key social indicators that combines multiple factors of well-being and aggregates social data for macro policy and micro targeting. This approach is being used by the UN, World Bank and more than sixty emerging countries to measure poverty and vulnerability. SOPHIA Oxford is bringing this world class methodology to the private sector.
