James Hall

James Hall is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in threat hunting, detection engineering, and incident response. Currently serving as a Principal Detection Engineer at Sophos since July 2023, James previously held the role of Global Threat Hunting Lead at Aviva from January 2018 to July 2023, where responsibilities included developing global threat hunting programs, leading teams in incident response, and delivering technical briefs to executive audiences. Earlier positions at Aviva included UK Cyber Operations Lead and Threat Hunter & Security Analyst. James's career began at Royal Mail as an MDEC Keyer and included a brief stint as a Web Developer at T3E through the Vodafone World of Difference program. James holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Information Security from the University of Plymouth, obtained in 2013.
