Ethan Shen has a diverse work experience in the field of technology and research. Ethan is currently working as a Cofounder/CTO at Sora ID since June 2020. Prior to that, they were a Student Researcher and Software Engineering Intern at Google from September 2019 to January 2020, and from June 2019 to September 2019, respectively. Before their time at Google, they worked as a Machine Learning Intern at Kernel, where they built advanced neural interfaces, from June 2018 to September 2018.

In their earlier years, Ethan worked as a Research Intern at Stanford University School of Medicine. At the Longaker Lab, Weismann Lab, and Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, they were involved in various projects ranging from in vivo stem cell studies to utilizing machine learning techniques on HSC gene expression datasets to analyze aging cell heterogeneity. This role lasted from June 2016 to June 2018.

Ethan also gained valuable experience as a Software Engineering Intern at Yoshi - Gas Delivery and Car Services, a startup backed by Y Combinator, from April 2017 to September 2017. Ethan was primarily focused on backend development during this time.

Beginning their journey in the research field, Ethan worked as a Research Intern at Stanford University School of Medicine in the Helms Lab, Department of Surgery. Ethan published papers on tissue regeneration and skeletal stem cells and even gave a talk at PSRC. This role lasted from August 2014 to January 2016.

Ethan Shen completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Bioinformatics from Stanford University, where they attended from 2016 to 2020. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, also at Stanford University. Their master's program started before 2020, but the exact start year is not provided.
