Thomas Pietschmann

Thomas Pietschmann is a distinguished scientific leader in virology and infection research, currently serving as the Director of the Institute of Experimental Virology at TWINCORE and as a Scientific Co-Director at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research. With over 25 years of experience, they have contributed significantly to the understanding of human pathogenic viruses and the development of innovative antiviral solutions. Thomas is also a member of the Executive Board of the German Centre for Infection Research (DZIF) and has held various academic positions, including postdoctoral fellow and Emmy Noether Fellow at the University of Heidelberg.
