Run Shen

Run Shen currently serves as an Associate Director for CLD, USP, and Clinical Manufacturing at Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc., overseeing GMP manufacturing and CMC activities since September 2015. This role includes leadership in cell banking, upstream manufacturing, harvest clarification, and the supervision of manufacturing staff. Run Shen has a proven track record in process development, having led numerous CHO cell line developments and optimized processes to enhance productivity and reduce development time. Previous positions include Senior Scientist and Group Leader, where responsibilities encompassed cloning, medium optimization, and bioreactor scale-up. Run Shen's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Biomedical Genetics from the University of Rochester. Prior postdoctoral experiences were completed at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and the Stowers Institute for Medical Research.
