Akosua Adomako Ampofo

Akosua Adomako Ampofo is a Professor of African and Gender Studies at the Institute of African Studies and also President of the African Studies Association. From 2010-2015 she was the Director of the Institute of African Studies (UG) and was also the foundation Director of UG’s Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy. She is a Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences, and an honorary Professor of the Centre for African Studies at the University of Birmingham. She is a former parent of the school, an ardent Pan Africanist, and was the guest speaker on AU Day in 2008 and at the 2010 Speech day.
