Michelle Smith

Michelle Smith is an experienced editor with a diverse background in journalism, currently serving as Features Editor at Sosland Publishing since December 2020. Prior positions include Editor at Influence & Co. and a freelance writer/editor. Prior to freelancing, Michelle worked at The Kansas City Star as Assigning Editor and held the role of Copy Editor/Page Designer at The Des Moines Register. A significant experience includes a four-month tenure as a loaner on the national copy desk at USA TODAY. Earlier in the career, Michelle served as Assistant Managing Editor and Education Reporter at The Independence Examiner. Michelle holds Bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia, completed in 1989.
