Tom Hertenstein has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Tom started their career as a Trip Leader at Backroads, where they led luxury bicycle trips for high net worth clients and managed budgets, logistics, and client services. Later, they worked at Titec USA Inc as the Director of Marketing, where they developed the global brand strategy, designed and launched new product lines, organized international trade shows and events, and created ad campaigns. Tom then moved on to Bonhams Auctioneers as the Director of Marketing, where they directed an in-house ad agency, created a new system of proposals leading to significant consignments, and managed a multi-million dollar budget for promoting auctions in diverse specialty categories. Currently, they hold the role of Director of Northern California Marketing and National Digital User Experience at Sotheby's International Realty Inc., where they drive UI/UX improvements in national platforms, collaborates with various stakeholders on product development, and creates marketing and digital strategies resulting in significant sales growth.

Tom Hertenstein completed their high school education at O'Fallon Township High School from 1988 to 1992. Tom then pursued a Bachelor's Degree at Stanford University from 1992 to 1997, majoring in Economics and Art History. In 1995, they also attended the University of Oxford for a short period, focusing on Art History and Economics. Continuing their academic journey, Tom obtained a Master's Degree in Art History / Visual Studies from UC Irvine, completing it from 1997 to 1999.
