Firas ELMASTOUR has extensive work experience in the field of biotechnology and gene therapy. Firas is currently serving as a Principal Scientist at SOTIO Biotech, where they are responsible for virus engineering, CAR-T cells, upstream and downstream processes, scale-up virus production, and evaluation and implementation of new technologies in gene therapy and viral therapy. Firas previously worked as a Senior Researcher at Harvard Medical School from May 2019 to February 2022, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from May 2017 to April 2019.
Firas ELMASTOUR completed their doctoral studies at the University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology from 2013 to 2017, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Virology-Immunology. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Microbiology and Immunology from both the University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology and the University of Tunis El Manar, from 2010 to 2012.
