Gabriel R. Ortega

Gabriel R. Ortega is an experienced engineer with a robust background in civil engineering and project management. Currently serving as an Engineer Intern at Souder, Miller & Associates since January 2023, Gabriel specializes in civil design, construction project inspection, and auditing plan quantities for various projects, including those for NMDOT, city, county, and BIA. Previously, Gabriel held the role of Project Manager at Constructors, Inc. from September 2019 to December 2022, managing highway and airport projects. At NMDOT from March 2011 to February 2018, Gabriel progressed through various positions, including Staff Manager, overseeing construction projects and supervising inspectors, as well as serving as Engineering Coordinator, where responsibilities included supervising design technicians and ensuring project compliance with DOT standards. Gabriel holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with a focus on Civil Engineering Technology from New Mexico State University, completed in 2005, along with a diploma from Goddard High School, earned in 1997.
