Axel Destremau

Axel Destremau has over 28 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Axel began their career in 1992 as a Well Services Supervisor for TOTAL, where they managed four crews of slickline and coordinated operations for over 100 wells. Axel then worked as a Reservoir Engineer for TOTAL ABK, performing reservoir simulation using black oil and compositional simulators. In 1998, they became a Completion & Testing Engineer for SINCOR, designing completion and Artificial Lift systems and testing 50 wells.

In 2001, Axel joined Schlumberger as the General Manager for China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea, where they were responsible for all operations in the four countries with a P&L of about 700M$ and a staff of more than 3000 people. Axel then became the Vice President of Completions for Latin America and Middle East and Africa, with a focus on cost management, initiative to deliver better support more effectively to operations, and growing market share. In 2017, they joined OilSERV as the Executive Vice President of Testing & QHSE and General Manager of Iraq. Theirroles included improving HSE, managing P&L, and maintaining relationships with customers and local stakeholders.

In 2017, Axel also joined Soul Artists as a Non Executive Director and seed investor. In 2020, they became the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Oil & Gas for Enerwhere, introducing Renewable Hybrid solutions for off-grid power generation in remote locations.

Axel Destremau attended Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d'Aérotechnique from 1987 to 1992, where they earned a MS of Science in Engineering. Axel then attended Oregon State University from 1989 to 1991, where they earned a MS of Science in Fluid mechanics. In 1998, they attended IFP School for Well Drilling/Driller, but did not receive a degree.
