Derek D Weaver, CTP

Derek D Weaver, CTP has extensive experience in finance and treasury. Derek D began their career in 1990 as a Personal Banking Officer at Wells Fargo. Derek D then moved to Jenny Craig International in 1994 as a Reconciliations Supervisor, where they implemented a full automated reconciliation process and managed a staff of four. In 1999, they became the Corporate Cash Manager at 24 Hour Fitness, where they were responsible for managing bank reconciliation of 40 accounts, forecasting daily/weekly/monthly cash, estimating/initiating daily loan payments and borrowing, and project managing/implementing a reconciliation system for 15 users. From 2001-2004, they were a Member of the San Diego Treasury Management Association. Derek D then joined Sunstone Hotel Investors, Inc. as the Director of Cash Management in 2004, where they built a sophisticated forecasting model to track/forecast daily sales vs cash actuals and reforecast available cash receipts when forecasted revenues were incorrect. In 2010, they became the Hotel Controller/Manager- Financial Systems & Analysis at LEGOLAND California Resort, where they performed hotel financial modeling prior to the hotel opening to estimate total project costs and track actual project expenses vs budget. Derek D also was responsible for creating all of the revenue forecasting for the hotel prior to opening to determine Daily Rates, estimated net income, and total project payback. From 2015-2018, they provided Accounting and Financial Systems Consulting for small and midsize companies as an FP&A Director, Corporate Controller, and Financial Systems Consultant. Derek D'smost recent role is Vice President, Finance & Treasury at Soul Community Planet, which they have held since 2023.

Derek D Weaver, CTP obtained their BA in Finance from Sonoma State University in 1993. Derek D then attended California State University San Marcos for Accounting in 1996. Prior to that, they completed General Education Units at Palomar College in 1991. In addition, they obtained certifications in Excel 2013 Essential Training, Excel 2016: Macros in Depth, and The Basics of Data for Analytics from LinkedIn in October 2016. Derek D also obtained their CTP - Certified Treasury Professional from the Association for Financial Professionals in March 2003.
