Laura Young

Laura Young, CIA, has a diverse work experience spanning over the past three decades. Laura is currently a VP, Senior Internal Auditor at Sound Community Bank since September 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Internal Auditor at WaFd Bank from March 2019 to September 2021. From August 2014 to March 2019, they served as the Internal Audit Manager at Inspirus Credit Union. Laura also held the position of Senior Internal Auditor at School Employees Credit Union of Washington from November 2013 to August 2014. Before transitioning to the financial industry, Laura worked for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as an Auditor from March 2010 to November 2013. Laura also gained experience as a Financial Analyst at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2009. Prior to that, Laura served as an Audit Program Manager at Safeco from September 2000 to December 2008. Their earlier experience includes roles such as Lt Col at WA Air National Guard from January 1991 to August 2006 and Internal Auditor at WA National Guard from July 1997 to September 2000. Laura has been an active member of the Puget Sound Chapter of IIA since 2002.

Laura Young, CIA began their education in 1972 at Holy Names Academy, where they attended from 1972 to 1975. After completing their schooling at Holy Names Academy, Laura went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Wright State University. Laura attended Wright State University from 1983 to 1984.
