Mike de Luca

Mike De Luca has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mike is currently serving as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Sound since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Lean Accounting Coach at BMA, where they focused on coaching organizations and individuals on lean capabilities in Accounting and Finance.

Before BMA, Mike held multiple roles at the Lean Enterprise Institute, including Faculty and Coach, and also served as the Program Manager for their Center for Lean Accounting Learning and Practice. Here, they provided education and coaching on Lean Accounting and Finance to organizations.

Mike also worked as the Program Director, Healthcare at Beyond Budgeting Round Table, where they supported healthcare organizations in developing and implementing adaptive financial planning processes. Additionally, they served as a Faculty - Lean Finance at Catalysis Inc., providing training and coaching on Lean Finance and Accounting in Healthcare.

Prior to these roles, Mike was the Principal and Owner of Torre Consulting, where they worked with firms to evolve their strategies and advance their management capabilities through Lean principles and tools. Mike also had an extensive tenure at Group Health Cooperative, where they held various finance-related roles, including Executive Director and Director of Finance.

Before entering the finance field, Mike worked at Indiana University as a Specialized Materials Coordinator for the Slavic and Uralic/Altaic Subject Area, where they managed exchange programs and provided research assistance.

Mike De Luca holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Finance from Seattle University, which they obtained between the years 2003 and 2009. Prior to that, they earned a Master's Degree in Russian and East European Studies from Indiana University Bloomington from 1988 to 1990. Mike also has a Bachelor's Degree in Russian Language, Literature, and Linguistics from the University of Rochester, which they completed from 1984 to 1988. In addition to their formal education, Mike De Luca holds several certifications, including FHFMA and CHFP from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Mike also obtained a certification as a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from the Management and Strategy Institute.
