Zili Li

Zili Li has extensive work experience in the field of machine learning and engineering. Zili is currently serving as the VP of Machine Learning & Engineering at SoundHound since August 2022. Before this role, they held positions such as Senior Director, Director, Principal Scientist, Staff Research Engineer, Senior Research Engineer, and Research Engineer at the same company, working on various projects related to automatic speech recognition and acoustic modeling. Prior to joining SoundHound, Zili Li worked as an Electrical Engineer, Field Supervisor, and QA Supervisor at Harris Communications from 1994 to 2000. Zili also worked as an Electrical Engineer at China Telecom from 1991 to 1994.

Zili Li holds a PhD in Telecommunications (Automatic Speech Recognition) from the Université du Québec - Institut national de la recherche scientifique, obtained from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) in Telecommunications from the same institution between 2000 and 2003. Their undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Physics, was earned at Tsinghua University from 1986 to 1991. Additionally, Zili Li has acquired additional certifications from Atlassian, including the Confluence Fundamentals Badge and the Confluence Quickstart: New to Cloud Badge, both obtained in 2023.
