Georg Apitz

Georg Apitz has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Georg began their career in 1999 as a System Administrator at Bilfinger Berger Inc. Georg then worked as an Executive Programmer at the Max-Planck-Institute for Evolutonary Anthropology from 2002 to 2003. In 2006, they had a summer internship at PricewaterhouseCoopers. From 2008 to 2010, they served as the User Experience & Usability Manager and Senior Web Developer at GlobalGiving. In 2010, they co-founded Otixo and served as the CTO until 2011. Georg then joined Pivotal Labs as a Senior Engineering Manager from 2011 to 2014. From 2014 to 2021, Georg worked at Pivotal Software, Inc., holding various roles such as Practice Manager, Cloud Foundry; Director; and finally, as a Coach in Residence. Currently, they are working as a Leadership Coach at Sounding Board, Inc. Additionally, in 2003, Georg worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland. In 2009, they founded Usebar LLC and currently holds the position of Founder & Chief People Whisperer.

Georg Apitz has a strong educational background in computer science and human-computer interaction. Georg pursued their Ph.D. (ABD) in Computer Science with a specialization in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Maryland, which they attended from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, Georg completed their Master of Science degree in Computer Science at the same institution from 2003 to 2006. Georg started their academic journey at Leipzig University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from 1999 to 2003.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Georg Apitz has also obtained several certifications. Georg is a Certified Sparketype Advisor, having completed the certification program at Spark Endeavors, Inc. in February 2022. Furthermore, they hold a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) certification from the Co-Active Training Institute, which they obtained in February 2020. Georg has also earned the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coaching Federation in March 2020.
