Cyrus Rustomji has held a variety of positions in their career. Cyrus began their professional journey in 2005 as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles, where they programmed time triggering software for a ground-based gamma ray telescope array. In 2007, they were an Intern at ZPower, where they worked on optimization and production line of the anode for an improved Silver-Zinc Battery. That same year, Rustomji began their role as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC San Diego, where they researched new methods for improving the performance of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells using Titanium Dioxide Nanotube technology. From 2010 to 2013, Rustomji was a Material Scientist and Development Engineer at Eaton, where they researched and evaluated new materials for Super Capacitors with electrochemical techniques and thermal analysis. From 2013 to 2015, Rustomji was a Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California San Diego, as well as a Material Scientist at Space Micro Inc., where they were the primary engineer on Materials and Processes Development to fabricate space-grade Thin-Film electronic devices with small form factor for a Phase II NAVY-SBIR grant. Finally, they were the Chief Executive Officer at South 8 Technologies from 2015 to present.
Cyrus Rustomji has a comprehensive educational background, beginning with a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of California, Los Angeles from 2005 to 2007. Cyrus then went on to pursue a Masters in Material Science and Engineering from UC San Diego from 2007 to 2009. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Material Science and Engineering from UC San Diego in 2015.
