Prof Ranjan Kumar Mohanty received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Mathematics, IIT Delhi in the year 1990. He has more than 30 years of teaching and research experience at various institutions including the University of Indore, the University of Delhi, and the South Asian University. Prof Mohanty is a recipient of the prestigious ‘Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research Fellowship 2013’, ‘Commonwealth Fellowship 2000’, and ‘BOYSCAST Fellowship 1996’. He has worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Louisiana Tech University (USA), Nottingham Trent University (UK), and Loughborough University (UK). Prof Mohanty has published more than 200 research papers in various international academic Journals of repute. He has successfully guided 27 Ph.D. students. He is a regular reviewer of many national and international Journals. Prof Mohanty is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences is (FNASc), and of the Indian Academy of Mathematical Modeling and Simulation (FIAMMS).

The South Asian University is an International University sponsored by the eight Member States of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).The eight countries are: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.The vision of a world-class South Asian University to be collectively established by SAARC was first outlined by the Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh at the 13th SAARC Summit in Dhaka in 2005.The University focuses overwhelmingly on research and post-graduate level programmes.
