Virginia Ellison

Virginia Ellison, CA, DAS, currently serves as the COO and Director of Collections at the South Carolina Historical Society, a position held since July 2012. In this role, Virginia oversees all archival and museum operations and previously held titles including Director of Archives and Research and Events & Outreach Archivist, where responsibilities included managing archival collections, coordinating educational outreach, and organizing events. Prior experience includes serving as an Evening/Weekend Reference Librarian at The Citadel and an Archival Intern at the Waring Historical Library at the Medical University of South Carolina. Virginia holds a Master's degree in Library & Information Science from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the College of Charleston.
