Cassidy E. Murphy

Cassidy E. Murphy is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Counsel to the Clerk at the South Carolina Senate since January 2025. Prior to this role, Cassidy held positions such as Director of Government Relations at Elevance Health and Staff Attorney at the South Carolina Office of Regulatory Staff. Cassidy's legal career includes a role as Assistant Attorney General focusing on Internet Crimes Against Children and extensive experience in government relations at the South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation, where advocacy for farmers and analysis of legal and regulatory matters was central. Additionally, Cassidy participated as a Fellow with Sustain SC and served as a Senior Consultant at the SC Department of Health and Human Services, advising on legal and policy matters. Cassidy holds a J.D. from the University of South Carolina, a Master's in Conflict Resolution from UMass Boston, and a Bachelor's in International Studies and French from the University of South Carolina.
