Virtual schools exist to serve the students who would better thrive outside the four walls of a traditional classroom. Specific reasons why families choose a K12 education for their child: • The student is academically advanced and the classroom pace moves too slowly. • The student is an elite athlete or youth performer with a busy travel schedule. • The student is homebound, undergoing medical treatment. • The student can take individual courses not available in his or her own school or home district. CLASS OF 2012 • 118 students graduated from SCVCS in 2012 compared to 37 graduates in 2011. • 2.1 million dollars in Scholarships were generated by the class of 2012. • 4 Palmetto Scholarship Nominees; 36 Life Scholarship Nominees; 18 Hope Scholarship Nominees
