Pierre Larochelle

Pierre Larochelle currently serves as the Head of the Department and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology since July 2017. In addition to this role, Pierre Larochelle has been an Associate Editor for the ASME Journal of Autonomous Vehicles & Systems since April 2020, following previous editorial positions for the Journal of Mechanisms & Robotics and the Journal of Mechanical Design between June 2005 and August 2019. Prior to the current position, Pierre Larochelle held the role of Associate Dean at the Florida Institute of Technology from December 1994 until July 2017 and served as Associate Editor for Mechanics Based Design of Structures and Machines from August 2006 to November 2013. Pierre Larochelle earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Irvine and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego.
