Hemchand Tummala

Hemchand Tummala is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences, currently serving as Associate Director at The Haarberg Center for Drug, Disease and Delivery Research since July 2023. Tummala has been at South Dakota State University since August 2008, holding positions as Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor, and Graduate Program Coordinator, with expertise in teaching Pharmaceutics, compounding laboratory, and Pharmacokinetics. Research interests include vaccine formulations, novel TLR agonists, nanotechnology, and cancer drug targeting. Previous roles include Interim Head of the Department and Associate Professor at South Dakota State University, as well as Research Assistant Professor at The University of Memphis and Post Doctoral Fellow at UMass Medical School. Tummala earned a Ph.D. from the National Institute of Immunology and holds an M.Pharm from Panjab University and a B.Pharmacy from Jobs in Warangal.
