Rosie Nold is a seasoned academic and leader in the field of Animal Science, currently serving as a Professor and Assistant Department Head at South Dakota State University since November 2007. Nold also holds the position of Associate Professor and contributes to various administrative duties. In addition to teaching the Introduction to Animal Science course and overseeing other courses, Nold leads the Ag and Natural Resources Extension programs at SDSU Extension, providing mentorship to Field Specialists and focusing on livestock, agronomy, and gardens. Prior experience includes serving as District Extension Director at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and as an Extension Specialist in Youth Animal Science. Nold earned a Ph.D. in Animal Science with an emphasis on meats from South Dakota State University, a Master’s degree from Kansas State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from South Dakota State University.

Founded in 1881, South Dakota State University is the state's Morrill Act land-grant institution as well as its largest, most comprehensive school of higher education. SDSU confers degrees from eight different colleges representing more than 175 majors, minors and specializations.
