Lorna Maxwell has a diverse work experience spanning over several organizations and roles. Lorna began their career as a Project Officer at Co-operation Ireland in 1993 and later became a Programme Coordinator at the Confederation of Peace Corps in 1997. In 1998, they joined South Dublin County Council as a Community Officer and then transitioned to being a Strategic Development Officer at the South Dublin County Development Board in 2001. Lorna returned to South Dublin County Council in 2005 as a Project Manager and later as a Senior Executive Officer in the Corporate Services Department. From 2008 to 2013, they held the role of Senior Executive Officer in the Economic Development and Planning Departments at Dublin City Council. Lorna'smost recent position is Director of Corporate Performance & Change Management at South Dublin County Council, which they have held since 2014.
Lorna Maxwell completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English & Economics from Maynooth University from 1989 to 1992. Following that, they pursued a Higher Diploma (H.Dip) in Community & Youth Work at Maynooth University from 1992 to 1993. Lorna then attended the Institute of Public Administration, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Public Management from 2004 to 2006. Most recently, from 2014 to 2016, Lorna studied at Dublin City University, completing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Human Resource Strategies.
