Karen Lau

Karen Lau is a seasoned professional currently serving as the General Manager of Strategy and Stakeholder at South East Water since June 2023. Prior to this role, Karen Lau held various senior positions at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action from October 2017 to June 2023, including Executive Director of Catchments, Waterways, Cities and Towns and Acting Deputy Secretary for Environment and Climate Change. Previous experience includes serving as Executive Director of Performance and Integrity at the Victorian Public Sector Commission and Acting Chief Transformation Officer at the Department of Health & Human Services, Victoria. Karen Lau also has extensive experience in public policy and organization reviews, having worked for the State Services Authority and other roles within the Victorian public sector. Karen Lau holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Arts / Commerce (Hons) from the University of Melbourne.
