Brenda Alexander

Brenda Alexander is the Vice President of the South Georgia Physician Network and the Chief Human Resources Officer at the South Georgia Medical Center. Brenda has over twenty-five years of experience in Human Resources.

Brenda started their career in Human Resources at SSM Health Illinois in October 2015. Brenda was quickly promoted to System Vice President of Human Resources in charge of designing and implementing human capital strategies for the company's 2 hospitals and 8 clinics. During their time at SSM Health Illinois, Brenda was successful in reducing first year turnover from 45% to 15%. Brenda also achieved employee engagement of 75th%ile as measured by Press-Ganey.

In July 2020, Brenda accepted a position as Vice President of the South Georgia Physician Network and Chief Human Resources Officer at the South Georgia Medical Center. In this role, they are responsible for providing strategic direction for organizational development opportunities within the region, including talent assessments and succession planning. Brenda is also responsible for directing a high performing HR function that is respected by leaders and employees alike.

Brenda Alexander has a MS in Training & Development from Eastern Illinois University and is certified from SHRM in SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

They work with John Moore - Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Chuck Marshburn - CIO & HIPAA Security Officer, and Hilary Gibbs - VP, Chief Development Officer. Their manager is Ronald E. Dean, President and Chief Executive Officer.
