Sergio Varela

Sergio Varela has extensive work experience in various executive roles in the finance and healthcare sectors. Sergio served as the CFO and CAO at South Mill Champs Mushrooms since December 2017. Prior to that, they were the CEO of Grandcare Health Services from September 2008 to December 2017. From July 2012 to November 2017, Sergio was the CEO of FirstTeam Private Client, a concierge healthcare services provider. Sergio also held positions at SunOpta, where they served as President of the SunOpta Fruit Group and held various vice president and controller roles from 2002 to 2008. Sergio started their career as a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers from September 1997 to June 2000.

Sergio Varela attended Wilfrid Laurier University from 1994 to 1998 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics and Accounting.
