Phillip Smith is an experienced music educator and professional musician, currently serving as the Director of Percussion in Commercial Music at South Plains College since August 2022. With a diverse background in teaching, Phillip has held adjunct professor positions at Truett McConnell University, Georgia State University Perimeter College, and Talladega College, specializing in applied percussion and music appreciation. Additionally, Phillip has provided music instruction at Dunwoody School For the Arts, focusing on percussion and music theory. Phillip’s educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Music Pedagogy from The University of Memphis and a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. As a self-employed musician since January 1990, Phillip brings a wealth of practical experience to the field.
