Rachel Horak, Ph.D., is a Senior Specialist in Education at the American Society for Microbiology since July 2019 and a youth competitive swim team coach at South Shore YMCA since April 2022. Prior experience includes serving as a Visiting Professor at Stonehill College, where Rachel taught Virology and Anatomy & Physiology labs, and as an Education Fellow at the American Society for Microbiology, coordinating education projects that align with curriculum guidelines for undergraduate microbiology. Rachel's background in research includes a postdoctoral position at the University of Washington focused on chemical oceanography, as well as instructional roles at Georgia Institute of Technology. Rachel holds a Ph.D. in Biology with a focus on oceanography, a Master of Arts from William & Mary, and a Bachelor of Science from Davidson College.
