Kim Vaughan

Assistant Principal, Learner Services at South Staffordshire College

Kim Vaughan is the current Assistant Principal of Learner Services & Adult Provision at South Staffordshire College. Prior to that, they served as Head of College at James Watt Birmingham Metropolitan College from January 2009 to April 2019. During their time at James Watt, they were responsible for increasing income for the college, improving academic success rates, expanding the curriculum, creating and managing apprentice partnerships, implementing commercial and academic strategy, budgeting, leading support services, and serving as the designated Lead Safeguarder. Kim also wrote and implemented the Safeguarding and Prevent policy and liaised with the governors and external agencies including the Counter Terrorism Unit.

Kim Vaughan has a Master of Science in Healthcare Policy and Management from the University of Birmingham, a PGCE from Birmingham City University, a Bachelor of Science in Podiatric Medicine/Podiatry from the University of Sunderland, and a BTEC in National Banking and Finance from Matthew Boulton College.

They work with Karen O’Reilly - Assistant Principal, HR, Karen Turley - Assistant Principal, Quality & Curriculum, and John Snow - Deputy Principal, Finance & Resources. Their manager is Claire Boliver, Chief Executive Principal.
