Matthew Roberts

Matthew Roberts has over 25 years of experience in the energy trading sector, currently serving as Energy Trading and Risk Manager and Contracts Manager at South West Water since July 2021. Previously, Matthew held positions at Shell Trading as a UK and NW Europe Originator and at J.P. Morgan as Vice President - Global Commodities, where the focus was on cross-commodity coverage and complex non-linear transactions in the UK and NW European markets. Earlier roles include Head of UK Power Origination at RBS Sempra Commodities and UK Originator at RWE Trading, both specializing in structured solutions for non-standard risks. Additionally, Matthew has a comprehensive background in trading and analysis with roles at E.ON and TXU. Matthew graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Portsmouth in 1996.
