Andy Thompson

Andy Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning more than 15 years. Andy began their career at Barrick Gold Corporation in 2005, where they held various roles in human resources and operations. Andy managed the Warehouse, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, and Human Resources functions at Barrick Bald Mountain, overseeing a successful mine expansion and doubling the workforce. Andy also served as the Manager of Safety, Health & Security in the Cortez District, and later became the Director of Human Resources for North America. In 2014, they transitioned to the role of Manager of Operations Support in the Cortez District, providing leadership to centralized technical resources. Andy then became the Chief of Staff for Barrick Nevada, responsible for operating systems, business rhythm, and operational excellence. Andy also served as the Interim Manager of Underground Mines at Barrick Goldstrike and played a key role in the implementation of Barrick's digital transformation. In 2019, Andy joined The Mosaic Company as the Senior Director of Transformation. Andy recently joined South32 in 2020 and currently holds the position of Vice President of Project Delivery for the Hermosa project. Overall, Andy's experience encompasses project management, operations, HR, and strategic leadership.

Andy Thompson attended Gonzaga University from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Reno from 2000 to 2005, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations. In addition, they obtained the certifications of PHR and SHRM-CP from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in June 2007.
