Malcolm Guthrie

Malcolm Guthrie is an experienced professional in the mining and metallurgy sectors, currently serving as the Manager of Processing, Project & Industry Evaluation at South32 since December 2022. Previously held roles include Principal Process Engineer at Northern Star Resources Limited and Manager of Metallurgy at Allied Gold Corp, along with various managerial and engineering positions at Ausenco, where significant contributions were made to projects such as the Sentinel copper project and the Olympic Dam concentrator expansion. Earlier career experiences include roles as a Process Engineer at Resource Capital Funds and Proteus EPCM Engineers, as well as positions at Newcrest Mining, Rio Tinto, Sons of Gwalia, and Minara Resources. Malcolm Guthrie holds a Master of Science in Mineral Economics and dual degrees in Chemical Engineering and Extractive Metallurgy from Curtin University.
