Matthew Moyer has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Matthew is currently working at South32 as the VP Innovation & Business Optimisation, where they are responsible for building and leading a globally-integrated organization focused on unlocking value and driving innovation. Prior to this role, they served as the Vice President Innovation & Improvement at South32, leading strategic assessment and operating model improvement initiatives.
Before joining South32, Matthew worked at BHP Billiton, where they held several leadership roles. Matthew was the General Manager Engineering, overseeing the safety, operation, and performance of the Engineering business supporting BHP's Iron Ore operations. Matthew also served as the Head of Integrated Operations, responsible for operating BHP Iron Ore's Integrated Remote Operations Centre and spearheading the design and implementation of a new Mines Operating Model.
Matthew also gained valuable experience at McKinsey & Company as an Engagement Manager, and at GE, where they held roles as Assistant Controller and Finance Analyst. Matthew began their career as a Certified Flight Instructor at Solberg Aviation, where they taught and coached aspiring pilots.
