Enrique Alvarez

Chief Operating Officer at SouthCoast Wind

Enrique Alvarez has extensive experience in the renewable energy industry, which began in 2005 as an intern with Fluidyn. Enrique then worked as a FEM Analysis - Composite Materials Engineer at Altran Espa\u00f1a for two years before transitioning to the wind energy field in 2008. With Gamesa, they initially served as a Structural Analysis Engineer - FEM and then as a Project Manager - Offshore Wind Energy. Later, they were employed at Alstom Wind as an Offshore Interface Manager, where they managed cross-functional teams and facilitated offshore foundation engineering for various clients. At EDP Renewables, they had several roles from Site Manager to Construction Associate Director, where they oversaw the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm Project. Most recently, with OW Ocean Winds, they served as the Moray East Project Director and Construction Director, responsible for the wind farm's construction. Currently, they are the Chief Operating Officer and SouthCoast Project Director for SouthCoast Wind, a renewable energy company.

Enrique Alvarez has an extensive education history spanning several years and institutions. In 1999, they earned a Master of Industrial Engineering specializing in Energy from the Universidad de Sevilla. In 2004, they obtained an Engineer degree from the INSA Lyon, specializing in the Department of Energetic Engineering and Environmental Engineering. In 2008, they completed an Expert in Technologies in Fracture Analysis and Fatigue Strength in Mechanical and Aeronautical Eng. degree from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia. Between 2012 and 2014, Alvarez attended IE Business School in pursuit of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Global Management. Enrique also studied at Fudan University in 2013 to earn an MBA Exchange qualification. Recently, in 2022, they added a Strategic Decision Making degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to their qualifications list.
