Michael Dexter, ENV-SP, CFM, is a seasoned professional in sustainability and environmental management, currently serving as the Director of Federal Programs for the Southeast Sustainability Directors Network since August 2021. In this role, Michael manages a pilot program that aids communities in the Southeast in accessing federal funding and resources to enhance sustainability and resilience initiatives. Prior experience includes the position of Finance and Grants Manager at the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program, overseeing a budget exceeding $1.2 million for environmental projects, and serving as Program Manager for the USEPA's National Environmental Performance Partnership System. Michael's extensive background also encompasses significant roles at the USEPA focused on climate adaptation and disaster preparedness, as well as research contributions at NOAA and environmental advocacy during student government. Michael holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Environmental Studies from New College of Florida.
