Ben Ellington

Ben Ellington has extensive work experience in the banking industry. Ben currently holds the position of Senior Vice President, Peninsula Market Executive at Southern Bank and Trust Company. In this role, they focus on providing financing options to well-qualified borrowers for various purposes such as business acquisitions, refinancing, and real estate. Prior to this, Ben served as Vice President - Regional Commercial Loan Officer at Chesapeake Bank from 2015 to 2020. Ben also held positions at EVB - Eastern Virginia Bankshares as Vice President - Commercial Relationship Manager III from 2013 to 2015, at United Bank as Vice President - Commercial Lender from 2004 to 2013, and at AgSouth Farm Credit as a Loan Originator in 2003.

Ben Ellington completed their undergraduate education at The University of Georgia from 1997 to 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag and Applied Economics. After that, they pursued further education at Louisiana State University, where they attended the Graduate School of Banking from 2006 to 2008. Their focus during this time was on Banking and Financial Support Services. Additionally, Ben obtained a certification in FinTech from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in September 2016. Ben was recognized as a Top 50 Capstone Project Graduate in the Fall 2016 Cohort for the FinTech Certified Professional program at MIT.
