Matt Funke

Matt Funke is the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Southern Bank. Matt has over 20 years of experience in the banking industry.

Funke began their career as an Internal Auditor for Central Bancompany, Inc. in 1998. Matt was promoted to Senior Internal Auditor in 2000 and then to Internal Audit Manager in 2001. In 2003, they left Central Bancompany to join Missouri General Assembly as a Fiscal Analyst for the Committee on Legislative Oversight.

In 2006, Funke joined Southern Bank as Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Matt was promoted to Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer in 2016. Under their leadership, the bank has achieved record profits and growth.

Matt Funke has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Missouri State University. Matt also has a certification from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in Certified Internal Auditor and a certification from the State of Missouri in Certified Public Accountant.

Matt Funke reports to Greg A. Steffens, President & CEO. They work with Courtney Littrell - Vice President & Retail Operations Officer, Matt Bedell - Marketing Officer, and Lora L. Daves - Executive Vice President & Chief Risk Officer.
