Barbara Bestor

Barbara Bestor, FAIA, is the founding principal of Bestor Architecture, established in January 1995, which has significantly influenced the architectural landscape of Los Angeles through its innovative approach to design, art, and urbanism. Alongside leading her firm, Bestor serves as a Board Trustee at SCI-Arc and a Board Member at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music. Previous roles include Director of the Julius Shulman Institute at Woodbury University, a member of the Board of the Los Angeles Conservancy, and the Founding Chair of the Graduate School of Architecture at Woodbury University, as well as faculty positions at SCI-Arc, Harvard University, and UCLA. Bestor's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in visual and environmental studies from Harvard University and a degree in architecture from SCI-Arc.
