Marissa Dodson

Marissa Dodson is an accomplished public policy expert with extensive experience in criminal justice reform advocacy. Currently serving as the Public Policy Director at the Southern Center for Human Rights since April 2016, Marissa develops and manages legislative lobbying efforts at the Georgia General Assembly, collaborates with legal teams to draft proposals, and engages diverse coalitions to mobilize support for reform initiatives. Prior roles include Southern Regional Advocacy Associate at the ACLU and Policy Director at the Georgia Justice Project, where Marissa focused on legislative agendas that address barriers for individuals with criminal histories. Marissa holds a Juris Doctor degree from LSU Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Spelman College.
