Andrea Lanier Papageorge

Andrea Lanier Papageorge has extensive experience in building codes and standards, currently serving as Manager of Building and Gas Codes and Standards at Southern Company Gas since 2005. In this role, Andrea oversees end use codes and standards impacting the AGLR footprint and provides guidance to employees, building professionals, and contractors on relevant regulations. Previous positions include Regional Manager of Government Relations at the International Code Council, where Andrea developed a government affairs program, and Manager of Building Codes and Industrialized Buildings at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, supervising a team of code professionals. Andrea began a legal career as the first Staff Attorney for Athens-Clarke County, Georgia, advising the Board of Zoning Appeals. Andrea holds a JD from the University of Georgia School of Law, an MBA from Brenau University, and a BS in Political Science from Georgia Southern University.
