Steve Murphy

Steve Murphy has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the gas industry. Starting in 1992 at Atlanta Gas Light, they worked their way up from an Engineer to a Senior New Business Analyst, where they played a key role in reducing costs and improving performance. Steve then moved on to Virginia Natural Gas as Director of Operations Support, managing various departments and budgets. In 2005, they joined AGL Resources, where they held multiple roles including Managing Director of Engineering and Managing Director of Operations Services, overseeing capital projects, compliance, and process improvement. Since 2011, they have been serving as the Vice President of Engineering and Construction at Southern Company Gas.

Steve Murphy completed their Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology from 1986 to 1992. Steve then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Georgia State University, completing it from 1995 to 1997. In 2022, Steve attended the Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management for the Exective Development Program.
