Sukanya Rangarajan has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Sukanya began their career as an Auditor at Deloitte & Touche/Fraser and Ross, where they performed financial statement audits for major corporations. Sukanya then worked as a Finance and Accounts Officer at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, where they prepared financial reports and supervised accounting staff. After that, they served as an IT Auditor at Comerica Bank, focusing on ITGC reviews and developing audit programs.
Sukanya later joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Manager Client Services, where they provided client service and advised clients on technology, information systems, and business strategies. Sukanya also became a Subject Matter Expert in business process controls and Systems Controls. Sukanya then moved to Oakland University as a Special Instructor of Accounting, teaching undergraduate and graduate accounting courses and serving as an advisor to students majoring in accounting.
Sukanya then worked at Penn State University as a Lecturer of Accounting, where they taught accounting courses and contributed to the development of the Master's in accounting program. Sukanya also worked with career services to build relationships with accounting firms. Most recently, they joined Southern Company Gas as a Director of Strategic Billing Solutions, responsible for leading and supporting annual rate case and major system implementations impacting revenue. Sukanya also served as the President for the Asian American Employee Resource group.
Throughout their career, Sukanya has demonstrated strong audit, teaching, leadership, and relationship-building skills. Sukanya is knowledgeable in GAAP principles, IIA standards, and has expertise in revenue recognition, business process controls, and SOX controls.
Sukanya Rangarajan's education history includes obtaining a B.Com degree in Accounting from Ethiraj College For Women from 1991 to 1994. Sukanya further pursued a degree in Accounting, A.C.A, from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India between 1994 and 1997. Additionally, they obtained a Grad. CWA degree in Managerial Accounting from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India from 1995 to 1997. Lastly, they completed their education with an MAcc degree in Accounting from Oakland University between 2000 and 2001.
