Daniel Diaz

Daniel Diaz, P.E. is an experienced professional in the field of electrical engineering and management, currently serving as the Manager of Data Acquisition & OT Cyber Security for Southern Company since December 2017. In this role, Daniel leads a team focused on Operational Technology, Data Acquisition, Metering, and Cyber Security for the non-nuclear generation fleet, while also providing expertise in equipment specifications and design reviews for new projects. Previous positions include Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice President for Technical and Project Solutions, where responsibilities included managing strategic projects and corporate goals, as well as roles in protection and control applications. Daniel's prior experience encompasses work as a Lead Commissioning Engineer at Eaton and various engineering roles at Southern Company and NAVAIR, with a focus on protective relay systems and avionic software integration. Daniel holds an MBA in Strategy & Innovation from Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
