Gerald van Beek

Gerald Van Beek has a diverse work experience in engineering roles. Gerald started their career at EDG as an intern in 1989. Gerald then joined EDO Specialty Plastics in 1992 as a Project Engineer, and later became a Senior Project Engineer. In 1999, they moved to International Paper, where they worked as a Research Engineer and eventually became a Senior Research Engineer. In 2006, Gerald joined Southern Company as a Senior Engineer and later became a Staff Engineer, focusing on the design, maintenance, and failure analysis of non-metallic materials for scrubbers used in clean coal technology. Gerald then progressed to the role of Team Leader and finally became a Principal Engineer. Gerald has extensive experience in material selection, failure analysis, and managing materials laboratory.

Gerald Van Beek completed their high school education from Slidell High School from 1984 to 1987, earning a high school diploma in the field of High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates. Following their graduation from high school, they pursued higher education at Louisiana State University from 1988 to 1993. There, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
