Vallery Brown

Vallery Brown, CFA, serves as the Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Southern Company since April 2025. With a robust background in energy finance, Vallery previously held various leadership roles at Southern Power, including Vice President of Analysis & Structuring, where responsibilities encompassed financial analysis, project valuation, and tax equity partnership negotiations. Vallery also established and directed the first Western Markets Commercial Optimization & Trading team, enhancing trading strategies across multiple energy markets. Earlier career highlights include roles as Fuel Procurement Manager at Southern Company and Assistant Bond Portfolio Manager at Protective Life. Vallery holds a Bachelor's degree in International Finance and German from The University of Alabama and a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Alabama, Manderson Graduate School of Business, along with an exchange program at the University of Mannheim.
