Karla Cavazos

Karla Cavazos has the critical role of synchronizing in house and A&E teams with Southern Land Company’s Commercial Construction Division to maintain high quality, reduce costs and accelerate delivery. Duties include managing A&E contracts, coordinating construction process with design and collaborating with Southern Land’s development teams from concept to completion.

Karla is a 25-year veteran of architectural operations management. Most recently she served as Executive Vice President of Operations with Humphreys & Partners Architects, LLP out of their Dallas, TX headquarters capping her 23 years with the same firm. In this role she oversaw all facets of architectural operations for 7 national offices and 2 international offices having a large practice in contract documents and construction administration services. The full-service firm focused on multifamily, mixed-use and hospitality/resort designs from mid-rise to high-rise in different markets across the country.

Karla holds AIA, CSI, SCT, and LEED Green Associate designations. A graduate of University of Texas at Arlington, Karla holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. She has worked on many award-winning projects nationally that are similar to Southern Land Company’s portfolio and strategic growth plans.
