Marcus E. Martin has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Marcus E. began their career in 1955 with the USAF, where they trained as a pilot and navigator. Marcus E. then joined the Mississippi Air National Guard as a pilot before transitioning to the civilian sector.
In 1963, Marcus started working at Farm Bureau Insurance Companies in Rankin County, MS as an Agency Manager, a role they held for nearly 50 years until 2011.
In 1965, they co-founded Martin Brothers, a business they owned with their brother until 2011.
In 1966, Marcus also started working as an Attorney at Marcus E. Martin, PLLC and Salesman at Martin Realty, Inc., roles they held for several decades.
In 1974, Marcus became a part owner and director of Covington County Bank, a position they held until 1985.
In 1988, Marcus joined Southern Pine Electric Power Assn as a Director - Vice President.
In 1997, they became a member of Marcus Martin Builders, LLC, a construction company they were affiliated with until 2013.
In 2008, Marcus founded Powerstone Solutions, LLC, where they served as the owner until 2011.

Marcus E. Martin completed their education in a chronological order. Marcus E. first attended Hinds Jr. College from 1953 to 1955, where they obtained a Diploma in General Studies. Following this, from 1955 to 1956, they completed Navigator Training and received a degree in Navigation. In the subsequent year, from 1956 to 1957, they attended USAF Radar Observer and pursued intercepting aircraft as their field of study. After that, from 1957 to 1958, Marcus underwent USAF Pilot Training. Marcus E. then enrolled at The University of Southern Mississippi, where they studied History & Math from 1960 to 1961, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Finally, from 1963 to 1965, they attended Jackson School of Law and graduated with an LLB degree in Law.
