Andrew Cordell

Andrew Cordell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as Director of Operations Center and Operations Services at Southern Power since August 2006. In this role, Andrew has developed and strengthened multiple teams to support the 12+ GW Southern Power generation fleet, including gas, biomass, wind, and solar assets. Previously, Andrew held positions such as General Manager, responsible for strategic direction in natural gas and wind project development and acquisitions, and Project Manager focused on procurement and negotiations for major power plant equipment. Andrew’s early career at Southern Company as a Mechanical Engineer laid a strong foundation for expertise in the industry. Academic credentials include a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Alabama.
